I have not seen your documentary but I plan to watch it. The homelessness issue is overwhelming in Nashville and Austin where I also live. Public camping is NOT the answer! Providing the funds to give options to help those who will accept help whether financial or mental IS the answer. You should check out Community First Village in Austin Texas that started as a ministry of the Church called Mobile Loaves and Fishes and has exploded with support from corporations and now public funds.
Thank you for your response, and I appreciate your intention to watch the documentary.
I want to clarify that as a researcher, I rely on data to interpret findings. My research is not based on personal opinions; instead, it is grounded in empirical evidence.
I am aware of the program you mentioned, the historical context of homelessness in the United States, and the policies across the country that link this issue to the criminal justice system.
While I agree with your emphasis on providing more funding, based on my scholarly opinion and research, I believe that criminalizing policies are not the solution and may be leading us astray.
Thank you for your comment, and I welcome a meaningful dialogue.
