thank you for this - did social work for 9 years with homeless and ex-homeless with severe mental illness. the tragedy and trauma were overwhelming and absurd given the resources we have in the USA. i'd add that the first populations exterminated by the Nazis were the homeless and the physically/ mentally disabled.
