Today, I am thrilled to announce the official launch of my third book, entitled “All God’s Children,” in collaboration with InterVarsity Press and Love Beyond Walls.
Reflecting on this moment, I am filled with a whirlwind of emotions. I am sad. I am happy. I am grateful. I am grieved. I am all of these things, and rightfully so!
Exactly one year ago today, I found myself unable to walk. I could not even move out of bed on this day last year. I couldn’t brush my teeth, walk to the restroom, or do any of the everyday things I once did (a year ago today).
Yet, somehow through my faith in God and the unwavering support of my family and friends, I mustered the courage to persevere and bring this third work to fruition. I finished this book when I couldn’t move, and it allowed me to express myself and find my voice again.
Little did I know I would partner with Barnes and Noble a year later to do my first book signing—on Juneteenth. Seeing this book, among others, was a huge inspirational moment for me.
Has this journey been easy? No. But looking back now, I can confidently say it has been undeniably worth it.
It has been worth every struggle I faced on my path to healing.
It has been worth rediscovering my voice after the accident.
It has been worth cultivating a profound appreciation for the gift of life.
It has been worth adopting an attitude of gratitude and strengthening my faith.
It has been worth discovering innovative ways to advocate for and for people living with disabilities.
Most importantly, it has been worth letting my family witness the depth of my love for them.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to those who have ordered the book.
Thank you for believing in me, for recognizing my ability to use storytelling to unite people, and for embracing this work alongside the other two as one that encourages others to transcend the barriers that seek to divide and marginalize people.
Today, I am sincerely thankful that I did not give up. And as a testament to this, I would like to share a video with you.
